Abstract

Plasma edge diagnostics in the tokamak TEXTOR are described briefly. Results obtained in discharges with and without auxiliary heating are presented. The composition of the flux of neutral particles emitted from the limiter and the velocity distribution of these fluxes is discussed and the influence of low-Z impurities, characteristic for TEXTOR, on the plasma edge properties, is described. The significance of the experimental data is discussed and an outlook on future work is given.
