Abstract

The COMANDOS project aims to facilitate the construction of large-scale, multivendor, distributed open systems by providing an integrated applications support environment for programming and using distributed applications that can manipulate long-lived data. The first part of this book provides a user's view of the COMANDOS platform. It focuses on the description of the functionality provided by the platform, design choices and innovative aspects. The second part of the book gives an overview of the implementation of the platform.
