A simple analytical model is presented for the plasma in the region outside the limiter which describes the impurity ions transport and production in the tokamak scrape-off layer (SOL). The equations of the model are solved analytically in the test particle approximation for the simple SOL configurations. A discussion of the solutions for different plasma parameters and target materials is presented.
