Abstract

Actinide-oxygen bond disruption enthalpies, D(An-O), were measured by iodinolysis and alcoholysis titration calorimetry, and absolute bond disruption enthalpies, D(U-O), were deduced. The reactions used in the iodinolysis of a uranium compound are shown and the results of the thermochemical experiments are presented. The influence of the nature of the titrants is observed in the series EtOH, CF(3)CH(2)OH and (t)BuOH.
