Mycetic contamination of foods and foodstuffs : Experimental findings on the presence of mycotoxin
Foodstuffs constitute a vehicle by which a considerable number of toxic substances, both chemical and biological, are introduced into the human body. These substances can be dangerous for humans to varying degrees. Among the most toxic are the mycotoxins, particularly the aflatoxins which have now been recognised as powerful carcinogenic substances. This report presents the results of a study conducted on products intended for animal consumption, as it has now been verified that aflatoxins consumed by animals can be transmitted to man through foods such as milk.
