Trial of a selfmoving prop in the Coto Cortés mine
In an attempt to solve the problems of integral mechanisation of coal workshops operating in slopes of between 35 and 40 %, this work describes the process of a trial of a selfmoving prop of the Coto Cortés type. It is intended for use in long fronts, of 180 metres in length and in coal layers with a 35-39 slant, which are already provided with a TEMP-1 chafer. In a first phase, a system of 25 prop units was devised and tried on a short front of 30 metres. Subsequently a complete workshop was developed and tested with satisfactory results both in coal extraction and gallery progression.
