Developments in the assessment and rehabilitation of brain-damaged patients : Perspectives from a European concerted action
This book contains a selection of articles which resulted from the European concerted research action on the evaluation of technology in the assessment and rehabilitation of brain-damaged patients. This collection of articles is based primarily on the proceedings of a plenary meeting of the concerted action held in Bad Neuenahr, Germany in 1991. The aim of this international project was to establish a scientifically founded and clinically justified pool of primarily computer-based assessment and rehabilitation programmes for the treatment of brain-damaged patients. Test and training programmes for attention disorders, visual hemi-neglect, memory disorders, aphasia and acalculia were developed, adapted for the respective languages and partially evaluated in multi-centric studies. This pool of programmes provides the basis for a European standardised computerised assessment procedure for the evaluation and rehabilitation of brain-damaged patients.
