1st BRIDGE meeting on sequencing the yeast chromosomes II & XIFunded under: FP2-BRIDGE
The periodic EC meetings of the yeast genome sequencing network serve three main purposes: firstly, the exchange of information on progress achieved in each laboratory; secondly, the discussion, and possibly the solution, of the problems and discrepancies encountered; and thirdly, the confrontation of techniques and strategies. This report contains the proceedings of the first BRIDGE meeting which was organised by the Yeast Industry Platform (YIP). Sessions covering the following areas were included: (i) functional search and informatics coordination; (ii) progress with chromosome II; (iii) progress with chromosome XI; (iv) present and future sequencing technologies; (v) nomenclature and databases.
