Biotechnology in the EEC and objectives of the agricultural researchFunded under: FP2-BRIDGE
The advances achieved in biotechnology by the EEC make the research aimed at meeting the specific objectives of agricultural research in each country or region more dynamic. The characteristics of these various actions and their development in time are presented: BAP (Biotechnology Action Programme) has enhanced activities likely to lead to advances in agricultural research. The ELWW (European Laboratory Without Walls) concept has emphasised the pluridisciplinary and multi-partner aspect of the projects, in association with laboratories that have similar objectives. BRIDGE (Biotechnology Research for Innovation Development and Growth in Europe) encourages wide-ranging projects and helps to solve their scientific and technical problems, while ECLAIR (European Collaborative Linkage of Agriculture and Industry through Research) ensures the follow-up of BRIDGE in the development of new technological opportunities.
