Community Research and Development Information Service - CORDIS

The project aims at an integrated approach to solving traffic flow and parking problems in the urban hypercentres of cities with more than 200,000 inhabitants. Legal and technical aspects of these functions are examined, with the effectiveness of different strategies tested applicable to future development of RTI. The work is in four phases: analysis of strategies observed in Europe involving on-road parking, waiting, and deliveries from a legal standpoint; development of a socio-economic model to evaluate street parking and loading/unloading; field tests of the model; and evaluation and recommendations relating to basic strategies using RTI.
