Community Research and Development Information Service - CORDIS

Abstract

The project aims primarily at identifying and describing the coordinated action required to assure an effective pan-European introduction of RTI systems. This is related to the DRIVE objective of promoting development of cost-effective implementation strategies for the application of RTI systems to road vehicles and to the roadside infrastructure. Implementation aspects concerning standardisation and legislation are covered and DRIVE tasks T501 and T513 are addressed with the necessary standardisation and need for legislative changes being described. Implementation strategy involves integration with conventional control systems, and implementation of advanced-technology pilot projects and new technologies.
