Abstract

The evaluation of fission fragment cross-section measurements, which only cover a small range of angles, requires a knowledge of fission fragment anisotropies. These anisotropies also contain essential information about the quantum states available at the saddle point of the fissioning nucleus and provide a better theoretical understanding of the fission cross-section. This paper describes two experiments which were performed using the Frisch gridded ionisation chamber technique to measure fission fragment properties as a function of incident neutron energy in 235U. The data are presented and results are discussed.
