Abstract

Laboratory studies of atmospheric chemical reactions have special requirements in terms of sensitivity and specificity of the analytical techniques applied. An experimental facility is described, equipped with optical spectroscopic techniques, analysing different regions of the wavelength spectrum and with subsidiary instrumental performance. Its capabilities are exemplified by studies of the tropospheric chemistry of the nitrate radical.
