The JRC-Ispra cyclotron and its application
The JRC Ispra cyclotron is a MC-40 isochronous variable energy cyclotron. Initially the cyclotron was used for the investigation of radiation damage in structural materials in the frame of the European Fusion Technology programme. However, this has declined over the years and the area of application has been extended to the production of radionuclides for tracer studies and nuclear medicine, and to various forms of activation analysis for material studies.
