Cooperative strategies of firms, governments and the scientific communityFunded under: FP3-VALUE 2
In the context of an increasing convergence of the technological capabilities of the main industrial countries and of the increasing competition between them, it has been noted that more cooperative, cross-border strategies are emerging, developed by firms, governments and the scientific community. This article, which is an extract adapted from the Technological Specialization of Advanced Countries, a report to the EEC on international science and technology activities, reviews these new cooperative strategies and the reasons for them. Cooperation agreements between firms, high technology programmes and the international collaboration of scientists are all discussed.
