Abstract

The overall aims of the ARGOSI project were to: (i) advance the state of the art in the transfer of graphical information across international networks; (ii) improve quality and applicability of standards in this area. This book records the key results of the project and the contributions the project has made to standardisation related to the transfer of graphical information across open networks. An overview of the project is provided and details of classification, network connectivity study and standardisation activities are given. The ARGOSI demonstrator and workshops are described and an evaluation of the project is presented.
