Use of nuclear techniques for the evaluation of hydrogen diffusion in glassesFunded under: FP2-RADPROT 7C
Resonant nuclear reactions allow the determination of the concentration of different elements at the surface and in the subsurface region of materials. An application of these techniques to the analysis of the mechanism of leaching of borosilicate glasses is presented. A comparison of the depth distribution of sodium and hydrogen is used to define the diffusing species of hydrogen.
