Jülich contributions on the way to a stationary fusion plasma
The current situation at JET has shown that the record length of plasma confinement has only been achieved in transient conditions for one second. Plasma has shown longer pulse length in contrast to reduced confinement characteristics. Present work has been aimed at achieving stationary state with optimal operating conditions. This article gives an overview of the various periods of work at the Tokamak reactor. The planned ITER project will be required to be stationary in all respects.
