Abstract

Laser induced fluorescence (LIF) measurements have been made on the C(2)Sigma(+)-Chi(2)Pi(r) transition of CD, which is produced by a microwave-excited Ar/CD(4) process plasma. The experiment has been realised using a frequency doubled cw ring dye laser as the tunable light source. The experimental set up is described and details of the spin-splitting of CD transitions are provided. The evaluation of measured line positions is discussed and conclusions are summarised.
