Abstract

Natural uranium may show small variations in its isotopic composition. These variations may be correlated to the origin of the material. An isotopic identity card of such materials may be established if a highly accurate measurement technique is applied. In 1992 IRMM was asked to perform isotopic measurements on natural uranium samples collected by the IAEA. This paper describes the measurement techniques including the problems encountered, instrumentation, sample treatment and data treatment. The experimental results are also presented.
