MAST supporting initiatives on "Ocean Data and Information Management"
Ocean data and information management is the term used to describe activities which are undertaken to make available comprehensive high quality data sets on marine environments. It includes quality control of measurements, data exchange, merging and processing of data sets, and banking and exchange of data or derived products. The MAST programme encourages cooperation beween research projects, data centres and public or private services so as to improve marine data management in Europe. MAST actions in this field are presented, including details of studies and projects undertaken since 1989.
