Community Research and Development Information Service - CORDIS

The reference material EC NRM 199 is a three-component synthetic 1:1:1 mixture of highly enriched 233U, 235U, and 238U oxides dissolved in nitric acid. The components consist of highly enriched isotopic materials carefully purified, isotopically and chemically analysed, and weighed by optimal mass measurements. This report sets out details of preparation and the associated uncertainties and also shows the consistency of its certified values with the best previously available reference materials. The true abundance ratios 233U/235U and 238U/233U are certified to 0.030 %, and the 235U/238U ratio is certified to 0.010 % accuracy.
