This volume compares the efficiency of and indications for the clinical and field use of various antidotes for cyanide poisoning. These include oxygen, sodium thiosulphate, hydroxocobalamin, dicobalt edetate, amyl nitrite, sodium nitrite, 4-dimethylaminophenol, and methylene blue and toluidine blue. It also assesses agents used to treat methaemoglobinaemia. Analytical methods for cyanide alone and in combination with cyanide antidotes in blood are outlined.
