Abstract

This report concerns the second European intercomparison of ultraviolet spectroradiometers, which forms part of a project aimed at establishing the criteria for a network of instruments to measure the variations of UV spectral irradiance throughout Europe. The principal requirement during this campaign was the measurement of the global solar spectral irradiance, the amount of energy arriving per second on the unit area of a horizontal surface, per unit of wavelength interval, from all parts of the sky above the horizontal, including the disc of the sun itself. Details of the instruments used, the observation schedule and the calibration lamp room are provided, together with the results for each of the participating teams.
