Fast reactor with near-zero sodium void effect - Neutronics calculations for the IAEA/CEC benchmark
This report concerns research into reducing the sodium void effect (SVE) in sodium cooled fast reactors, and presents the results of the IAEA/CEC benchmark calculations. Details of the geometrical model of the benchmark core are given and the EFR design methods, applied in order to allow extra polations from this benchmark exercise to the EFR project, are outlined. Results are presented for eigenvalues, absorber worth values, power distribution, breeding properties and computing conditions.
