This book summarises the results of the NIRO project on neutral interfaces in design, simulation and programming for robotics. The specification work for the neutral interfaces STEP (extensions with kinematics), ICR (interface to robot controllers), and IRL/PLR for robot off-line programming is reported. Processors and interpreters developed for several commercial CAD, programming, simulation, and control systems are described as well as the application of the results and the tests of the processors in four experiments in an industrial CIM environment.
