Guidance notes on the calibration of whole-body counters and on the interpretation of the measured resultsFunded under: FP2-RADPROT 7C
The aim of this document is to give a general overview of the present status of whole-body counter calibration techniques. General calibration procedures are discussed in relation to their applications for energy and efficiency calibration. Quality assurance is examined and specific calibration requirements for occupational monitoring, accidental monitoring and nuclear medicine are presented. Examples of dose estimation and data on the radionuclides encountered in whole-body counting are provided.
