The time behaviour of the thermal conductivity during L to H and H to L transitions in JETFunded under: FP3-FUSION 11C
The change in thermal transport across the L to H transition is studied in detail for JET high performance H-modes which have a very fast transition. It is found that in these pulses the transport changes very rapidly over a large radial region and a large transport barrier is formed. Several possible theoretical mode structures which have a large radial extent or the toroidal coupling of modes on neighbouring rational surfaces are reviewed and compared with the actual fluctuation measurements.
