This report presents contributions in English and French from the workshop on introduced species in European coastal waters held in Monaco in March 1993. The papers illustrate the increase of accidental species introductions in European coastal waters in the last twenty years, some of which are linked to the developments in aquaculture, marine transport, aquariology or anthropic/climatic changes. Other papers specifically discuss the introduction of non-indigenous species, algae, invertebrates and exotic species.
