Abstract

This report presents the results of the study carried out for the Netherlands on lessons learnt from emergencies after accidents involving dangerous substances. An overview of the organisation of emergency response is provided which contains descriptions of laws, regulations, tasks and preparatory activities. Seven accidents involving fixed installations and transportation activities are described. Lessons learnt by the organisations involved are provided, and conclusions and recommendations are presented.
