The analytical glove-box in the tritium magazine of ETHELFunded under: JRC-FUSAFE 5C
Packed column gas chromatography (GC) and Omegatron type mass spectrometry are employed to analyse the purity of tritium shipped to and distributed by ETHEL (European Tritium Handling Experimental Laboratory). The development and implementation of each analytical instrument is discussed, taking into account operational, maintenance and safety aspects of the laboratory. Initial hydrogen isotope measurements with GC are also presented, and operational parameters of the instruments are discussed for quantitative analytical purposes.
