Fluid approximation of the Bohm criterium for plasmas of several ion species
The fluid approximation for charged particles is used to derive the Bohm criterium for plasmas of several ion species. This approach implies that the particle distributions are close to shifted Maxwellian ones with certain densities, mass velocities and effective temperatures, whose change in the sheath is governed by the moments of the kinetic equation. Adiabatic flows of the ions and electrons are considered, but particle sources are neglected. The calculation is performed for plasmas of two species.
