Numerical solution of motion equations for scrape-off plasmas with two ion species
The description of plasmas with several ion species is important for the modelling of hydrogen isotopes and impurities in the scrape-off layer (SOL) of thermonuclear devices. This paper considers plasmas of two ion species of arbitrary concentrations. It is shown that the additional conditions necessary for the solution of the motion equations follow from the structure of the equations themselves. One-dimensional flows are discussed along a limiter SOL transparent for neutrals and fuelled by charged particles due to transverse diffusion from the discharge core.
