This paper considers a plasma under quasistationary conditions consisting in its ionic part of a pure 50 % D-T mixture. The size of the plasma and magnetic confinement are chosen such that the alpha-particles remain confined in the hot plasma core until they have thermalised by transferring their surplus energy to the thermal plasma. The conditions for stationary burning are discussed with reference to the fusion reaction rate, radial temperature and density and pressure profiles.
