This paper describes XMAP, a display program which accesses a geophysical database and produces topographic colour maps of any part of the world. The topographic maps are computer generated images based on a five minute resolution digital elevation model. The current content of the database is shown and details of its specification are provided, including information on the user interface and the IDL language.
