Abstract

Electronic speckle pattern interferometry is an interesting alternative to conventional holographic interferometry. It has the added advantage that, since it uses a video-electronic system for detection and processing, measurements can be done in real-time. This paper presents an ESPI system for vibration analysis purposes based on a time-average and subtraction method. It is shown that it is not very sensitive to ambient factors but that it is very suitable for in-field applications.
