Decrease of the annual total of the hours with Foehn at Ispra
The position of the Ispra meteorological observatory is ideal for research into the characteristics of the Foehn. It has been found that from 1964 to 1993 the hours of Foehn have been decreasing while the annual values of atmospheric pressure, temperature and water vapour pressure have been increasing. This report illustrates the change in meteorological parameters over the years, with annual hours of Foehn, and with the intensity of the Foehn. Over the last thirty years, the number of hours of Foehn has fallen by half, the temperature has increased by half a degree and the atmospheric pressure has increased by a few hectopascals.
