In the frame of a systematic study of the fragment mass and energy distributions of the spontaneously fissioning plutonium isotopes, about 30,000 242Pu(SF) and 14,000 244Pu(SF) events have been recorded and analysed, giving great care to the choice of the <nu>(m(i)) neutron correction curve as well as to a general improvement of the analysis routine applied. A fission mode unfolding was also performed on the 242Pu(SF) and 244Pu(SF) data and the results are compared with similar data previously obtained for 236,238,240Pu(SF), demonstrating the interplay of Standard I and II fission modes and proton-to-neutron ratios.
