Abstract

Public information requirements in the case of chemical emergencies are discussed and legislation that has been adopted is outlined. Communication problems in emergency planning and management are examined. The extensive monitoring of the implementation of the Seveso Directive has enabled recommendations to be drawn for effective information management.
