Methods to determine spins and neutron-channel-spin mixing of p-resonances
Transmission experiments of polarised epithermal neutron beams through targets of unoriented nuclei have shown that parity violation (PV) is a common phenomenon at p-resonances if they have the same spins as s-resonances of the same nucleus. Several ways of determining spins and channel-spin mixing of p-resonances are considered including capture gamma-spectroscopy, angular distributions of capture gamma-rays, neutron-scattering and the transmission of polarised neutrons through targets of polarised nuclei. It is shown that the transmission experiments provide the most complete information.
