Abstract

The Chemval project is funded jointly by the UK Department of the Environment and the EC and involves 18 participants in nine countries. This second phase has the principal aim of advancing the state of validation of predictive geochemical models in defined areas. Target areas are those known to be of concern in radiological assessment, namely temperature effects, ionic strength effects, organic complexation, sorption processes, coprecipitation and solid solution formation, and coupled chemical transport modelling. This report covers the period from May 1991 (start of the second phase) to June 1992.
