Optimization of the San Miguel-Cernado hydro-power system - 4th and 5th phases
The purpose of this project is to provide suitable hydroelectric generating equipment to harness the potential offered by a 135 m water head existing on the cross-over between the San Miguel and Bao reservoirs, and in this way optimise the hydroelectric facility as a whole. Basic data to be highlighted with respect to the new plant include its variable flow rate ranging from 0.2 to 2.1 m3/sec, the nominal power rating of the Pelton turbine at 2341 kW for a nominal water flow rate of 2.0 m3/sec, and the net water head standing at 133.67 m. In conclusion, the technical and economic success of the project confirm the suitability of the design, the quality of the work, and its profitability in operation.
