Community Research and Development Information Service - CORDIS

The Life Sciences and Technology for Developing Countries (STD3) research programme of the European Commission has promoted a fresh holistic approach to research in soil sciences within the concept of sustainable development. This publication contains the scientific contributions presented at the workshop held in November 1993 in Zimbabwe, as well as the interim and final discussion papers prepared by the delegates during the sessions. The intention of this meeting was to use the new holistic approach to soil in a specific geographic situation and to verify its applicability as an international action related to benchmark soil sites.
