Abstract

Total column amounts of ozone, SO(2) and NO(2) and UV-B sun irradiance have been measured at Ispra since the autumn of 1991 using a Brewer spectrophotometer. The data obtained are presented and discussed in detail and compared with analogous data measured in other stations or by different techniques. From the UV-B data an estimation of the erithemal damaging ultraviolet radiation level has been calculated. The total ozone data are sent regularly to the Italian Ministry of the Environment (via University "La Sapienza" of Rome), the Atmospheric Environment Service (AES), Canada and in the winter-spring season to the University of Thessaloniki in the frame of the WMO European Stratospheric Arctic and Middle Latitude Experiments (SESAME).
