Hot plasma diagnosis in tokamaks using synchrotron radiation
Emission of synchrotron radiation for diagnostic purposes in hot large major radius tokamaks is investigated for arbitrary angles with respect to the magnetic field. It is shown that, for given values of the wave frequency, the source of radiation is localised in ordinary and momentum spaces, yielding selective diagnostics of the radiating electrons. The location of the radiation source for a thermal plasma is also discussed.
