Test of deepness and integral starting mechanism with blade on 35 - 40 grades : Comparison with coal cutter
After a description of the mechanical operation to extract coal using the integral starting mechanism, the operative capability of the large machinery is explored, together with its performance and possibility of achieving the forecast standards. Two main goals were agreed at the beginning of the project: (i) to increase the productivity in the area of integral mechanisation; (ii) to improve the miners' safety. The report shows how to shore up the Glinick shield used to support and mark the ceiling or the gallery. The test widens and complements the coal cutter achievements. Given the two successful experiences in Asturias, the report considers following the same system when geological conditions allow.
