Validating SAR interferometry applications by using EMSL
This paper describes the results from a preliminary test where a pair of metallic spheres were measured in order to estimate the focusing capabilities of the w-k processor with EMSL (European Microwave Signature Laboratory) data. Interferometric fringes can be formed from couples of complex SAR images measured with a radar system positioned at two closely spaced angles. A coherence analysis of the interferometric fringes was conducted where volume scattering was considered as a possible cause for the loss of coherence detected in the interferograms.
