Many countries are currently considering their own approach to inspection qualification and are carefully assessing experience to date. ENIQ (European Network for Inspection Qualification) is a newly formed group whose general objective is to coordinate and manage, at European level, expertise and resources for the assessment and qualification of NDE inspection techniques and procedures, primarily for nuclear components. Non-nuclear heavy duty components will also be considered. The objectives, main activities, organisation and actual status of ENIQ are discussed in this paper.
