Abstract

This paper considers the generalised one-step-ahead controller, subject to explicit input constraints. By making a suitable on-line choice of the quantities l and Q(q(-1)), the resulting controller provides a solution to the constrained control problem. When this constrained controller is applied to a stable system, either minimum phase or non-minimum phase, it results in an asymptotically stable closed loop system. Its performance is demonstrated by means of simulation examples and two kinds of constraints are considered.
