Abstract

In the framework of the LOBI experimental programme, a number of tests have been defined and executed as counterpart to tests carried out in similar experimental installations such as LOFT, SEMISCALE, PKL, BETHSY, LSTF and SPES. They encompass a broad range of thermal-hydraulic phenomenologies relevant to the assessment of system codes used in PWR safety analysis. This paper provides a comparative overview of significant test results and an appraisal of the qualitative, rather than quantitative, evolution of the simulated transients relative to the different scaling rationales and/or geometrical characteristics pertinent to each test facility.
